The Foundation's New Executive Director!
The All star Children's Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Jim Deering to the post of Executive Director.
Jim has spent twelve years in both public and private schools as an elementary and middle school educator, and later in estate and financial planning services.
Jim; adopted at the age of three, has his own story of what it is like for a child to break the cycle of abuse. His goal is to make sure people know and understand the foundation vital lifesaving mission, and more importantly that, "it should never hurt to be a child".
Jim grew up in Ohio, where he received a bachelor's degree from Ohio University and a master's degree from Cleveland State University. Since 1998 Jim has been involved in philanthropy for two national organizations covering some twenty states. Jim has lived in Sarasota for the past twenty-two years. He and his wife Carolyn have four children.

Spirit of Service
The All-Star Children's Foundation is pleased and proud to announce that Graci McGillicuddy, our board chair, has been awarded the Florida Senate's "Spirit of Service" Award! This is the highest honor bestowed on civilians by the Florida Senate. The award was created to recognize Florida's "unsung heroes", those who, through their acts of service, preserve America's long-standing tradition and commitment to volunteerism and make Florida a better state.
