The Foundation has awarded grants to the following agencies whose programs are specifically designed to break the cycle of child abuse, neglect and abandonment:
Child Protection Center, Inc. (www.childprotectioncenter.com)
Mission: Child abuse: Prevention, Intervention, Treatment. We envision a community where children are safe from abuse and free to thrive.
Girls Inc. of Sarasota County (www.girlsincsrq.org)
Mission: Inspire all girls to be Strong, Smart and Bold. The primary goals focus on literacy, math and science, career and life planning, health and sexuality, leadership and community action, sports and adventure, self-reliance and life skills and culture and heritage.
Children’s Guardian Fund (www.12circuitgal.org)
Mission: Guardian ad Litem is dedicated to speaking out for the rights of abused, neglected and abandoned children who have been thrust into the court system. This Fund is the fundraising arm for the Guardian ad Litem Program in the 12th Judicial Circuit courts in Sarasota, Manatee and DeSoto counties.
Forty Carrots Family Center (www.fortycarrots.org)
Forty Carrots is dedicated to strengthening families through educational programs for parents, their children and professionals in the field.
The Florida Center (www.thefloridacenter.org)
Mission: The Florida Center is dedicated to the healthy development of young children, their families, and our communities.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast (www.bbbssun.org)
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast provides one-to-one mentoring services to an average of 1,600 children each year. Their Mentoring Children of Promise program focuses on the children with at least one incarcerated parent.
Spirit of Service
The All-Star Children's Foundation is pleased and proud to announce that Graci McGillicuddy, our board chair, has been awarded the Florida Senate's "Spirit of Service" Award! This is the highest honor bestowed on civilians by the Florida Senate. The award was created to recognize Florida's "unsung heroes", those who, through their acts of service, preserve America's long-standing tradition and commitment to volunteerism and make Florida a better state.
